FAQ
When do I need to replace the Erion covers?
The replaceable covers are designed to take the wear from the chain and protect the Erion housing underneath. Replace a cover once its thinnest point reaches 0.3 mm.
Replacing the cover in time prevents it from breaking and protects the housing from unnecessary wear, helping your Erion deliver reliable performance for as long as possible.
How do I replace the Erion covers?
Replacing the covers is quick and simple. Each Erion unit has an accessible cover extension with a retaining screw: the front unit’s screw is located at the rear of the unit, while the rear unit’s screw is located on the left side of the contact patch.
- Remove the retaining screw.
- Slide the worn cover out of its position.
- Insert the new cover.
- Reinstall the screw.
Once fitted, your Erion is ready for the next ride.
How long does a cover last?
Cover life depends on your bike, setup, riding conditions, and how much contact occurs between the chain and the contact patches. With a correct installation and optimal chain contact, wear should be low and the covers can last a long time.
In setups with more frequent contact, a cover may show significant wear after approximately 700 km. Check the covers regularly and replace them once the thinnest point reaches 0.3 mm to keep the housing fully protected.
